As most of you have probably heard, a truly devastating incident happened last week as a fellow Armadian, April Millsap was found murdered on the Macomb Orchard Trail. This has shocked our small community. But as small as we are, our strength and togetherness will overcome this tragedy. The once open town, with a trail full of promise in attracting outsiders has now been given a dark mark. No one should ever feel afraid of using the trail the way it should be used: For the enjoyment and recreation of our community. In doing so, we felt it was best to create a bike ride to get people back on the trail. Not only to overcome the fears, but also in memory of April. Our ride starts in Armada, on the west side of the Fulton intersection. If anyone wants to provide pink ribbons, flowers, or anything in memory of April, we highly encourage it. We would also love for someone who is affiliated with the donations to join. For anyone new to what we do, we are a bicycle advocacy group started right in Armada. We do weekly group rides which are open for anyone! All you have to do is show up and be prepared to make friends, enjoy the trail, and ride free!
